Before tech, I spent 20+ months in Emergency Medicine rotations across Burundi. Triaging patients with limited resources taught me to think in systems and make decisions under pressure. It shaped how I build software today: reliability first, always plan for failure, and never assume perfect conditions.
My mission is advancing digital sovereignty for Africa's underserved languages, starting with Kirundi, spoken by 12M+ people yet invisible to AI. That's why I founded Ijwi ry'Ikirundi AI and built the first open-source AI data infrastructure for Kirundi: 4,500+ sentences and growing, designed for linguistic inclusion in the AI era. With years of experience, I design production systems that work within Africa's realities: offline-first, zero-cost, community-driven.
